A woman's weight fluctuates throughout her adult life, and her size changes 31 times on average, according to a new study. Typically, women gain weight during the first years of marriage and after the birth of children, and lose weight before the wedding, after the loss of loved ones and separation from a partner.
The average man changes weight 24 times in his adult life, and this is primarily due to stress at work. And in both women and men, weight changes during the Christmas and New Year holidays and during holidays. Moreover, 6 out of 10 women and 45% of men are constantly dissatisfied with their weight. Most of all, women were satisfied with their own weight at the age of 28, men - 29, least of all at 38 and 39 years, respectively.
75% of women and 61% of men keep things that no longer fit them in size. Moreover, in the women's wardrobe, on average, you can find 16 such items of clothing, and in the men's wardrobe - 14. Half of them hoped to return to the previous size, and 20% kept inappropriate clothing due to memories associated with it.
25% of men and almost 50% of women avoided going to clothing stores because they were not sure they would find clothes that fit them. While shopping, about 40% found that their size increased, which affected their self-esteem: shopping for clothes undermined their self-confidence in 21% of men and 2 out of 5 women. Moreover, almost 60% were frightened by stores with too much choice of clothes and overly attentive staff. Self-esteem increased when they found clothes they liked and that suited them, as well as after successful purchases at sales.
