New cases of coronavirus infection around the world are becoming known almost hourly. So, recently the disease was discovered in the chief infectious disease specialist of the Stavropol Territory Irina Sannikova.
A month ago, the chief infectious disease specialist of the Stavropol Territory, Irina Sannikova, commented on the situation with the coronavirus: she said that self-isolation is the best method of protecting against infection. However, the doctor herself went to Spain at the end of February. It was there, apparently, that she contracted Covid-19. The regional media report that after her arrival, Irina did not go to quarantine, but continued working meetings, despite her malaise.
A few days ago, the infectious disease specialist passed a test for the presence of coronavirus in the body, its result was positive. For further treatment and check-ups, Irina Sannikova was hospitalized. However, the situation was complicated by the fact that for several days the doctor contacted representatives of the Ministry of Health in the Stavropol Territory, the leadership of the medical university, the staff of the infectious diseases hospital and even the regional governor.
Now everyone with whom Irina met in the last days must go into self-isolation. The doctor herself stated that she felt satisfactory, followed all the doctors' recommendations and hoped for a speedy recovery. According to Irina's colleagues, she did not dare to quarantine immediately upon arrival, because she led a group of interns who were supposed to help the infected in the infectious diseases hospital.
