Premiere of the play "The Black Book of Esther" directed by Evgeniya Berkovich

Within the framework of the international theater festival named after Dmitry Brusnikin Brusfest premiere screenings of the play "The Black Book of Esther" directed by Evgenia Berkovich will take place. "Christmas at the Cupello House" at the Maly Theater

The play by the Italian playwright Eduardo De Filippo again awaits guests on the stage of the Maly Theater after a half-century break. But both then and now all the vicissitudes in the life of a simple Neapolitan family find a lively response in the heart of the viewer. “The Cupello House is a home theater, a place where a whole spectrum of human emotions is possible, from laughter to tragedy,” says production director Stefano De Luca. - Therefore, the genre of the play is very difficult to determine, everything is mixed here, as in life. The nativity scene made by Senor Coupiello is a symbol of Christmas, the holy family, the ideal family. The main character, in despair, tries to make the same out of his family. But little by little everything disintegrates, so he finds refuge in his own world."

Starring Vasily Bochkarev and Evgenia Glushenko. They bring to the stage all the baggage of a joint theatrical life.

Comic novel by Pulitzer finalist Nathan Inglander "Kaddish.com"

When his father dies, according to tradition, Larry must recite the Kaddish, a Jewish memorial prayer, for eleven months every day. But to the horror of his religious sister, Larry refuses to do so, endangering his father's soul in the World to Come. To reassure his sister, Larry turns to the staff of the kaddish.com website, which offers prayer-reading services. This unexpected decision will have profound and very personal consequences. Inglander's story of a son making such a natural compromise for the 21st century brilliantly captures the contradictions between tradition and modernity, which the author, who grew up in an orthodox environment, but has moved away from religion, knows firsthand.

Artem Rudnitsky's diplomatic novel "Riding a Tiger"

Diplomatic cipher telegrams, official correspondence of permanent missions, official notes, memorandums - this unusual book is based on the richest archival materials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, many of which are published for the first time. Fascinating documentary prose by A. Rudnitsky - about what kind of behind-the-scenes dramas were played out in the diplomatic "kitchen" in the pre-war period and who expected to ride the Nazi "tiger". Intrigues are added by conversations between Stalin and Molotov - what they could have been at that detective time and what the author imagined them. The combination of fiction and documentary creates a special genre of "diplomatic novel" that reads like a historical spy detective.

"Waves Run" is the debut album of the Moscow group Norway. Today. The disc includes seven lyrical pop-rock songs about the search for love, relationships and bright memories. Lightning-fast melodies and deep lyrics might never have been recorded if not for the quarantine and the opportunity to slow down the pace of life. For the soloists - Gena Vyrypaev and Yuri Tsokurov - who are busy working in the theater (Gena is an actor and co-director of his father Ivan Vyrypaev, Yura plays on the stage of the Vakhtangov Theater), lockdown became the starting point for a completely different creative path.

Norway. Today group was created in Moscow in 2019. The name refers to the theatrical background of the musicians: this is the famous German play by Igor Bauershima of the early 2000s - an intellectual drama about teenage confusion in front of the adult world, in which it is impossible to be sincere, to be "oneself". And this is one of the first performances of Teatr.doc, in which the main role was played by the mother of Gena Vyrypaeva, actress Svetlana Ivanova-Sergeeva.

The Waves Run Album is available on all digital platforms.
