New Year is a traditional time to sum up some life results and share memories. TV presenter Tina Kandelaki was no exception, who told how she met the new millennium and why she called her daughter an unusual name Melania.
Tina Kandelaki, on the eve of the New Year, remembered how she met the holiday 20 years ago, on December 31, 1999. She worked on the radio all that day. Before the New Year, according to Tina, she was already on the verge of giving birth, and the question was: will this happen before or after the Millennium.
Then Tina's colleague was Stanislav Sadalsky, who called her every five minutes and demanded to start childbirth immediately. The fact is that Yuri Mikhailovich Luzhkov promised to donate apartments to the first children born in 2000. But that day nothing happened.
And late in the evening, Kandelaki turned on the TV and saw the Miss Universe beauty pageant, which belonged to the future US President Donald Trump, and was hosted by the famous model Melania Trump:
“I was literally mesmerized by her beauty and, like many black-haired girls, dreamed of blue eyes and blonde hair. Looking at this woman, I made a promise to myself that if I give birth safely, I will name my daughter Melania."
Of course, no one could understand why Tina decided to name the girl that way. Even if it was Slavic, this name was not at all heard in Russia. But having given birth on January 11, she named her daughter Melania.
“In that Millennium, I made myself many cherished desires, and they all came true. Today I no longer think of participating in a new show. I plan to capture the whole world with my cosmetics and TV shows, which I am already shooting with might and main. I do not stop working on December 31. I feel that I have a lot of strength for even more exciting and hard work in the next ten years. What I sincerely wish for all of you,”concluded Tina.
