Forshmak, a classic dish of Jewish cuisine, has long spread beyond its borders and has become popular in dozens of countries around the world. It especially took root in Russia due to the availability of ingredients and ease of preparation. Herring is used for the classic forshmak, so it can be called one of the most budgetary fish dishes. Isn't there a reason to try?
400 g lightly salted herring
Potatoes 500 g
80 g butter
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp vinegar
2-3 sprigs of dill
salt, pepper to taste
1. Boil potatoes and eggs. Finely chop the eggs, mix the potatoes with butter and mash in mashed potatoes.
2. Peel the apple, finely grate, chop the dill.
3. Finely chop the herring fillet.
4. Mix all ingredients, add vegetable oil, salt, pepper and vinegar. Mix.
