
The online school for children Skysmart conducted a study that showed that 32.6% of parents want their children to study additionally, but at the same time have difficulties with paying for additional education in excess of 5 thousand rubles a month (37.5%).

42% of the respondents, who made up the majority and whose children are now 0-2 years old, do not yet see the need for additional education, however, those whose children are preparing for school or are already at school (32.6%) consider it important to study additionally. In addition, 35% believe that a child needs additional schooling to find a new hobby, develop new skills and interests of the child.
Parents named foreign languages (16.5%), creative pursuits (16.5%) and child's hobbies (14.4%) as the most popular disciplines for additional classes. At the same time, more than 50% of parents reported that their children do not study additionally, and 42% prefer to choose only free classes.
Among those parents who nevertheless choose additional activities for their children, 37.5% are not ready to give for classes more than 5000 rubles per month per child, 14.3% are ready to pay from 5 to 10 thousand rubles and only 6% are ready pay more than 10,000 rubles a month.
At the same time, the cost varies depending on the attitude towards specific disciplines. Most parents 48.4% are willing to pay up to 300 rubles for one lesson in mathematics, physics or chemistry online, 28.1% - from 300 to 500 rubles and only 9.5% - from 500 to 800 rubles. As for classes for the development of creativity or the skills of future professions (drawing, music, blogging), 49% consider an acceptable cost of up to 300 rubles, 26.8% - 300-500 rubles and 10.8% are ready to pay 501-800 rubles for classes online.

The survey involved more than 500 parents from different regions of Russia aged 31 to 35 years (20.2%), 41-45 years (14.6%) and 36-40 years (18.3%) with one (71 %) and two or more (22%) children in a family.
The age of the child in the families of the respondents is mainly 0-2 years old (29.6%), 18% of parents already have a child of 18 years old and 9.2% - families with children of 7 years old. The responses showed that the majority of parents with only one child are most interested in receiving additional education. The percentage of those who passed the survey suggests that the youngest parents are ready to provide additional education for their children. According to the results of the study, Skysmart experts concluded that not every parent can afford to provide himself with high-quality additional education for a child, most parents do not have the proper financial ability to educate their children additionally.
“Every child has talent and abilities, regardless of his grades or the wealth of his family. We want education at Skysmart to become accessible in the broadest sense, therefore, the research results became the reason for launching a grant program with a total prize fund of 3 million rubles. According to the results of the competition, 100 winners will receive free education in an online school.
The grant program covers both children with learning difficulties and poor grades, as well as motivated children, but families who do not have the opportunity to pay for extra classes. The goal of the program is to help the former to love the learning process and find their interest in learning, while the latter to find their strengths, reveal their talent and acquire the necessary skill or knowledge,”says Mikhail Mitin, director of the Skysmart online school.
To participate in the program, you must apply for a grant from August 2 to September 6, fill out a questionnaire and attach a completed creative task - a drawing or video with a story about the child, his interests, goals and dreams. In order for the results of the competition to be objective, the grant holders will be selected in three stages - by the school's experts, based on the results of an open vote on the website, and at random. The results will be announced on October 4, 2021.
